Commitment to Access, GlaxoSmithKlines’s patient assistance program for oncology medicines, provides GSK prescription medicines to eligible low income patients without third party prescription drug benefits. GlaxoSmithKline patient assistance programs provided medicines valued at almost $388 million (Wholesale Acquisition Cost) to more than 484,000 patients during 2007.

Patients with Medicare Part D coverage must submit proof that they have spent at least $600 on prescription medications through the Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan in the current calendar year and must apply and be denied full Low Income Subsidy (LIS) assistance if their household income is less than 135% of the Federal Poverty Level.

Patients who are Medicare-eligible, but not enrolled in Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan must apply and be denied full Low Income Subsidy (LIS) assistance if their household income is less than 135% of the Federal Poverty Level.
